Utell sign global agreement with ABC Connection

As well as delivering global RfPs for transient business the agreement supports the recently launched Utell Groups & Events service aimed at securing Groups and MICE business for member hotels. Offering a level of personalised service that requires less administration time and complexity for the booking agent and meeting planner, the Groups & Events service will help Utell members maximize revenue opportunities for group bookings.

Targeting a worldwide audience of corporate and leisure customers, Utell Groups & Events enables users to request support by completing an online inquiry form which will be received by Utell's global call centres, or by calling or emailing the dedicated regional reservations teams.

Launched in English, the service will become available in German, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, French and Italian on www.utellagent.com, with dedicated language support available globally.

Elaine Kennedy, vice president, global demand sales, Utell Hotels & Resorts said: "Whilst group bookings present a substantial revenue opportunity for Utell member hotels, it has historically been very difficult to make group bookings on the global distribution systems".

The Groups & Events service will be launched with three variations:

  • group accommodation only
  • meeting space and event assistance only
  • a combination of both
