Edinburgh First

Edinburgh First is the Commercial Division of the University of Edinburgh's Accommodation Services. They offer visitors a range of services including superbly situated accommodation and conference facilities which are ideal for business, groups, individuals and families. All this is in one of the UK's most visually stunning cities.

Edinburgh First appointed ABC Connection in April 2008 to enhance their presentation of its meeting, conference and accommodation services to key agency, corporate and leisure markets via ABC’s online distribution network. Their key objectives were:

Ø  To increase the awareness and visibility of Edinburgh First as the perfect choice for accommodation, meetings and conferences

Ø  To provide detailed information about the facilities and special offers available at Edinburgh First to target markets

Ø  To maintain consistent corporate branding and presentation across ABC’s online distribution network

On signing with ABC Connection, staff at Edinburgh First were able to quickly and easily load their information and images directly into the system. ABC’s online data warehouse provides them with real-time access to update any of the information and images displayed in their venue guide, whenever required. All of this information, including directions maps and floor plans, is distributed to ABC’s rapidly growing network of agency, corporate and leisure clients.

Gordon Dow, Sales Executive at Edinburgh First commented:

“We have been very pleased with the results achieved in working with ABC Connection. Within the first few months the new business generated justified the marketing investment and we have continued to benefit throughout the year. ABC Connection has helped us to improve the online presentation of our accommodation, meetings and conference facilities to prospective clients using ABC’s data and solutions to help find appropriate venues. In particular, we have benefited from the increased visibility for our services with many of the leading booking agents and their corporate and government clients.”
