Pendley Manor Taking Advantage Of Move To Online Bookings With Easy To Use System That Has Radically Reduced Administration
London, Independent hoteliers Pendley Manor has seen a marked increase in bookings and a reduction in admin overload following a decision to signup with The ABC Connection's unique e-marketing service for the leisure industry, The Request For Meetings System.
"Our business has seen a very positive benefit from working with ABC Connection," says Pendley Manor's Director of Sales Claire Lee. "We feel we are much more in control of this process and are concentrating on what we do best – being open, flexible and listening to our client's needs – instead of keying in information all the time."
Pendley Manor has two properties in Tring, Hertfordshire, and has been a successful independent since its formation in 1989. Its business centres on corporate bookings in the week and weddings at weekends, with its success centring on openness to client needs.
But when clients started demanding to work with Pendley in an increasingly online fashion, the group struggled initially, she admits. "We had to go from nearly 100% phone work to almost the opposite in terms of using the Internet. We were having to load and reload information about us over and over again, and it was a lot of extra work for us."
But things have changed since Pendley started working with The ABC Connection. Via a partnership with independent hotel reservations, business travel and event management agency Expotel, which is a key platform for ABC's market-leading The Request For Meetings application, that admin burden has been slashed to almost nothing.
"We needed an easy to use, cost-effective way to get broad visibility for our accommodation and conference facilities to a wide range of agencies and their corporate clients on the Web – and that's what we have got," says Lee. Pendley has been using the system since December 2007 and intends to keep it, she adds: "We have been impressed with ABC's easy to use and cost-effective system which allows us to update the information, images and special offers at any time, and we look forward to the continued expansion of its online distribution network."
